The foundations of the Saman Amel brand was laid in late 2009 by Saman Amel and Dag Granath. The brand today is the result of a organic process with its main focus upon the refinement of the product offered. To some extent, one could argue that the brand has developed as a reaction to today’s ideals of fast fashion.
Locally based craftsmanship and the concept of the handmade product has always been a key part of the Saman Amel heritage. An unwillingness to compromise on the quality of the product has generated a relatively slow production process - a process of refinement. No matter the specific product, this slow and organic process will always be key to the brand since it makes room for contemplation and fine-tuning. The brand has always been working towards delivering products with the highest possible quality and craftsmanship; no matter the margin or revenue of the specific item.
