Allmän information
The Swedish House of Finance (SHoF) was founded in 2011 by the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the Institute for Financial Research (SIFR) through a government initiative to strengthen financial research in Sweden with the aim to be one of the top research institutions in Europe. SHoF is jointly funded by the government and the financial sector.
The Swedish House of Finance provides a common platform for:
•Discussion and meetings for policy makers, researchers, and the financial sector
•A national financial data center which builds new datasets for studying Swedish financial markets and facilitates data access for researchers and students
•A national doctoral course program in finance, open to PhD students from all Swedish universities
•An extensive visitor, seminar, and conference program
•International recruitment and retention of research talent
SHoF has formal collaborations with the universities of Stockholm, Lund and Gothenburg, as well as the Royal Institute of Technology. As part of this collaboration, academic partners have access to guest programs, travel support, research incentive programs and recruitment support.
Research at the center is disseminated through publications, seminars and conferences directed not only to academics, but to policy makers and all members of the Swedish financial industry. Research is also jointly produced with Sveriges Riksbank and Finansinspektionen, and many of our members serve as advisors to various government entities such as, Finansdepartementet, Finansinspektionen, SNS, and Riksgäldskontoret.
